About Me

I was raised on a dairy farm with three brothers. My parents instilled important life values into us kids that I still use to this day. My father is the master of gardening, we always had a large garden and he taught me everything I would ever need to know about sowing the seeds and reaping the harvest. My mom taught me everything to know about taking care of the harvest. She has always canned, froze and preserved everything from tomato sauce, pickles, apple sauce, salsa and everything in between. While my dad helped me care for my dairy goats and chickens that I now show and breed, my mom taught me how to make soap and the best way to store eggs.

I grew up with a large family and we worked for everything we had. Now I have embarked on my journey alone (with the full support of my mother and father who are now 4 hours away from me, but always pick up the phone when I have a question about gardening or need opinions on cleaning up a stain on my carpet!)

I have moved in with my long time boyfriend on his farm in Upstate NY and he welcomed me and my 29 goats, 25 chickens (and counting), 5 geese, 6 ducks, 7 guinea hens and 4 dogs, all with open arms. We have stated a garden and plan on doing a lot of preserving when it comes time. We are blessed with lots of land and apple trees to complete the little piece of paradise I now call home. I hope to keep everyone up to date on goings on around the farm, including the planting and harvesting of the garden, my soap making adventures and of course information and tips on showing goats, poultry and maybe even Hereford cows if I can get him to sit down and dish some information for me. I love cooking and baking especially with fresh vegetables, meat and fruit from our own farm. I hope you will join me on this adventure!
